This course takes place on one weekend and is perfect for a short holiday.
Discover the many possibilities to create beautiful ceramic pieces without a potter's wheel. In this course you will learn the basic hand building techniques such as slab technique, coil technique and pinching technique. You will also learn how to glaze your pieces.
This course is taught in English (con un poco di italiano).
Course content:
During one weekend, on 3 sessions of 2,5 hours each, you will learn to build different shapes and objects, such as cups, plates, bowls, etc. I will demonstrate every technique and of course I will be by your side the entire time with tips and help. At the end you will have made several of your own handmade and glazed ceramic pieces.
Due to the small group size of max. 6 people, each participant will be able to get enough one-on-one time with me to get the help they need.
In the last session, I will provide you with bowls made by me, which you can use to learn how to glaze and even keep them after they are finished. I'll explain different glazing techniques and give tips, demonstrate glazing on an object, and then help you decorate the provided pieces with different coloured glazes.
Since your own handmade pieces need to dry for a few days and then be fired once before they can be glazed, I will take care of the glazing. You can choose your favourite colours from a small selection of my glazes.
I will send all glazed pieces to your home a few weeks after the end of the course (if you are on site longer, you can of course pick them up personally at the shop around two weeks after the course).

Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as for people who have already gained their first experience and would like to delve a little deeper into the topic of hand building and glazing.

I will glaze your own pieces in your desired glaze.

Our courses are non-refundable unless they get rescheduled or cancelled by us. If you cannot attend your booked course you must inform us at least with 7 days notice to receive a voucher that you can redeem for an equivalent course on another date (depending on availability, of course). Unattended single sessions of the intensive course will not be refunded.
