Online course 1 "Building a mug with a round bottom"

Materials and tools

  • clay (beige with spots, 20% of grog, grain size 0-0,2 mm, firing range 1000-1260 degrees celsius)

  • clay wire or cord

  • rolling pin

  • wooden strips 5mm

  • some water

  • different rulers

    • set square (triangle)

    • flexible ruler

  • round cookie cutters or small round plates, joghurt cup lids, coaster as templates

  • different sized brushes, soft

  • rubber kidney

  • pottery needle or skewer

  • textured scraper

  • sharp knife / cutter knife

  • sponge (usually included in starter kits)

  • various wooden sculpting tools (usually included in starter kits)

    • wider rounded tool

    • a narrow one

    • one with flat pointy top

    • or end of a fork

  • half sphere plaster mold or styrofoam ball or bowl covered with plastic film or fabric

  • clay slip

  • old cloth, moistened or airtight plastic box

  • small untreated wooden board

  • worksurface: fine structured chip board

Opening Hours


The studio in Bogliasco is primarily a workshop and the place where I teach pottery classes. I also offer my ceramics for sale here, however, I don't have regular opening hours.
